A Year Rooted in Compassion and Community
In 2025, Dāna Education continued its journey of standing alongside underprivileged children and youth across Thailand and Laos offering not only access to education, but safety, belonging, and the confidence to dream again.
Guided by the values of generosity (Dāna), service, and shared humanity, our work this year reached beyond classrooms. We nurtured emotional well-being, creativity, leadership, and social responsibility, responding to both long-term educational needs and urgent humanitarian realities.
Across borders, cultures, and communities, one truth remained clear: education flourishes when children feel safe, seen, and supported.
Thailand: A Safe Learning Home for Migrant Children

From Displacement to Belonging
Many of the children we serve in Thailand come from migrant and displaced communities along the Thai–Myanmar border. Their early lives have been shaped by conflict, uncertainty, and interrupted education.
At the Dāna Education Learning Center, these children found something different: a calm, welcoming space where learning happens alongside healing.
In 2025, more than 40 migrant children were supported through our center—each one met with patience, care, and consistency. Some arrived shy and withdrawn. Others carried anxiety far beyond their years. Step by step, trust grew. Laughter returned. Confidence followed.
Growing Through Holistic Education
Learning the Head, Heart, and Hands
This year marked the continued growth of the Dāna Education Diploma Program, a three-year holistic pathway integrating:
Academic foundations
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
Creative arts, mindfulness, and self-expression
Through mindfulness sessions, art activities, music, and reflective learning, students developed emotional regulation, empathy, and self-awareness skills just as vital as reading or mathematics.
For many children, this was the first time school felt safe.
Ensuring Access Through Scholarships
Education should never be out of reach due to financial hardship.
In 2025, Dāna Education supported:
Migrant children scholarships enabling access to Thai government schools
University student scholarships, combining financial support with structured volunteering and community service
These initiatives ensured that young people were not only supported academically, but encouraged to give back—strengthening a cycle of shared responsibility and leadership.
Standing With Families in Times of Need

Education Does Not Stop at the Classroom Door
Behind every child is a family facing daily challenges irregular income, unstable housing, and ongoing uncertainty.
Throughout the year, we supported families through:
Monthly parenting workshops focused on emotional awareness and family bonding
Emergency family fundraising, including a successful campaign raising 15,000 THB for crisis support
Learning center renovation, improving the physical environment where children learn and grow
When emergencies struck—most notably during the Myanmar earthquake—our community responded immediately with humanitarian aid, providing food, blankets, mosquito nets, medical support, and direct family assistance.
Celebrating Culture, Awareness, and Joy

Even in difficult circumstances, joy matters.
Cultural celebrations such as Christmas and Ta’ang New Year, alongside UNSDG awareness activities and Myanmar situation awareness events, reminded our students that their identities, cultures, and voices are valued.
These moments of celebration helped children reconnect with joy, tradition, and community—an essential part of healing and growth.
Laos: A New Chapter Begins

The Official Launch of Dāna Education Laos
2025 marked a major milestone with the official launch of Dāna Education Laos, expanding our mission to empower youth through learning, dialogue, and leadership.
Our work in Laos focused on young people—helping them develop confidence, critical thinking, and a sense of purpose rooted in both local values and global awareness.
Empowering Youth Voices

Reading, Speaking, Leading
At the heart of Dāna Education Laos was the Reading Club Program—a space where youth gathered (both online and in person) to read, reflect, speak, and listen.
Through this and other initiatives, Lao youth engaged in:
English communication and conversation clubs
Public speaking and discussion forums
Youth-led volunteering (Volunteer Program Gen 1)
Skill-based trainings in leadership, video editing, and storytelling
For many participants, this was their first experience speaking confidently in front of others—and being heard.
Learning Beyond Borders
Youth in Laos were connected to global perspectives through:
“Insight & Inspiration from Abroad” talks with JENESYS alumni
School outreach programs on English learning, AI literacy, and self-learning
International conferences such as the Charter for Compassion Conference
At the same time, programs like environmental education and biodiversity exhibitions reinforced respect for local ecosystems and community responsibility.
Aligned With the UNSDGs
Across Thailand and Laos, our work in 2025 aligned closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly:
Quality Education
Good Health & Well-being
Reduced Inequalities
Gender Equality
Partnerships for the Goals
These goals were not treated as abstract concepts—but lived through daily practice, dialogue, and action.
Walking Forward Together
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our: donors, volunteers, educators, partners, parents, and youth leaders.
Every contribution—time, trust, resources, and care—helped build learning spaces where children and young people could grow with dignity.
As we look ahead, Dāna Education remains committed to:
Expanding access to education
Strengthening youth leadership pathways
Deepening Thailand–Laos collaboration
Standing with vulnerable communities in times of crisis
Education is not a single moment. It is a shared journey. And we are grateful to walk it together.
