Building Digital Confidence: Dāna Education Hosts a Basic Digital Literacy Workshop

In today's world, digital skills are no longer optional—they are essential. From accessing educational resources to communicating effectively and preparing for future careers, digital literacy has become one of the most valuable skills a young person can develop. Recognizing this need, Dāna Education recently organized a Basic Digital Literacy Workshop at our Chiang Mai Learning Center, bringing together young learners eager to strengthen their digital knowledge.

The workshop introduced participants to the foundations of using digital technology confidently and responsibly. Through interactive discussions and hands-on demonstrations, students explored how computers and online tools can support their education, personal development, and future employment opportunities.

One of the highlights of the session was introducing participants to practical digital platforms that are widely used around the world. Students learned how Google Drive can help them organize and store important documents securely in the cloud, making collaboration and access to files much easier.

They also explored Canva, discovering how simple design tools can be used to create presentations, posters, resumes, and social media content. In addition, participants were introduced to ChatGPT as an educational tool that can assist with brainstorming ideas, improving writing, answering questions, and supporting independent learning when used responsibly.

Beyond learning about digital tools, the workshop encouraged participants to think critically about technology. Discussions focused on using online resources safely, protecting personal information, evaluating information found on the internet, and understanding how digital skills can open doors to educational and career opportunities.

Throughout the session, the participants demonstrated curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. Many actively asked questions, shared their experiences with technology, and expressed excitement about applying their new knowledge in school and everyday life. For some, it was their first opportunity to explore these digital platforms in a structured learning environment.
